Robbie Keane and Tim Cahill, among seven other, were selected to fill out the MLS All-Star game day roster Monday.
Commissioner Don Garber used his traditional Commissioner's picks to select the New York Red Bulls midfielder Cahill and young Seattle Sounders defender DeAndre Yedlin.
Meanwhile, All-Star manger Peter Vermes selected Keane from the LA Galaxy as well as, Kyle Beckerman (Real Salt Lake), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake), Corey Ashe (Houston Dynamo), Patrice Bernier (Montreal Impact), Tony Beltran (Real Salt Lake), and Camilo Sanvezzo (Vancouver Whitecaps) to round out his squad.
Sporting Kansas City, the hosting team for the all-star game, will feature Graham Zusi and Matt Besler.
"I am very excited to represent Sporting Kansas City along with the other guys," Zusi said about being named by the fans to the roster. "I very much appreciate the fans vote because with out them I wouldn't be here. It's a very exciting time."
Sporting Kansas City head coach Peter Vermes was able to pick most of the remaining roster by hand, opting to bring in US international and Real Salt Lake captain Kyle Beckerman, along with LA Galaxy striker Robbie Keane.
"It's great for the players and great for the orginization and obviously for the All-Star game especially because it's going to be here in Kansas City," Vermes said. "It's a tremendous honor and those guys are being recognized for being good players and having solid performances so far this season."
Yedlin is the first rookie since Michael Parkhurst in 2005 to make the All-Star game day roster.
Landon Donovan was not selected, which will snap his record of consecutive All-Star appearances which sits at 12.
The nine players round out a 20 member large squad that saw the first 10 spots selected by fan voting and the eleventh spot determined by a competition on the soccer game FIFA 13.
The AT&T MLS All-Star Game is set for July 31 at Sporting Park in Kansas City and will put the MLS squad up against AS Roma of the Serie A.
